Youth Fly Fishing National Championship-2023

When: October 6-9, 2023

Where: Paradise Valley, Montana

Venues: DePuys Spring Creek

Local Fly Shops: George Anderson Yellowstone Fly Shop, Sweetwater Fly Shop, Anglers West Fly Shop, Parks Fly Shop

Angler Lodging: Anglers are on their own for lodging - We encourage contacting friends and families met through clinics to arrange lodging. We reccomend a hotel in Livingston, or one of the many AirBnB or VRBO’s found in Paradise Valley, Montana. 

Closest Airport: Bozeman (45 Minutes to Paradise Valley)

Alternate Airports: Billings (2 Hour Drive)

Transportation Between Venues: Parents are responsible for making sure the angler has transportation between venues. 

Venue No Fish Period: Effective Immedietly. 

No Fishing on Dailey Lake, DePuys Spring Creek, Nelson Spring Creek or Armstong Spring Creek /O’Hair Ranch.

How to Register: Pay Event Registration Fee by October 1st, 2023- First Come, First Served

Cost: $500 

Includes: Private Water Access, Lunch and Dinners and Event Shirt.

Each angler will be responsible for their Montana Fishing License.

Eligibility: Anyone who has completed a USYFFT clinic and is under 19 years old at the time of the National Championship. Unfortunately, we can’t make exceptions to the rule of completing a clinic before competing in Nationals- We will have one last opportunity to complete a day clinic in Colorado on September 30th for those interested in competing in this years National Championship (DETAILS HERE).

5 p.m. MANDATORY ARRIVAL. Meet at TBD Location in Paradise Valley, Montana. Bring a 9 Foot 5 Weight Rod with Matching Reel and Line of your choice. Casting Competition. 

7:15 p.m. Angler Check-In at TBD Paradise Vallye Location and Live Draw/Meeting.

Please do not register unless you are coming. For a fly-fishing event, numbers are very important. Please ensure that you can make your best effort at attending if you register. 

A few items of note:

Holding a National Championship in Paradise Valley Montana is a very special thing that has never been done. The fishery that this event is being held on is private, and an opportunity of a lifetime. It books out over a year in advance, and to many, the opportunity to fish this water is considered the a chance of a lifetime. The cost of holding a National Championship in montana is significantly more expensive than in most other areas of the country. All efforts have been made to make this event as affordable as possible, while still producing a high quality event.
