This event is a regional qualifier for Fly Fishing Team USA  in the Midwest region. For anglers to be eligible to register on the first day, they must be from Arkansas, Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, or Texas. If you are an angler from another region, you can use this as your one regional qualifier outside of the region for the cycle but you must wait 24 hours to register to allow anglers from the West region to register first. Registration opens March 7, 2025 at 5:15 pm Mountain Standard Time

Vail, Colorado 

Event Format:
2, 2-hr competitor controlled sessions.

This event will be run in a 2-person team format. You can sign up and choose your teammate or a teammate will be assigned to you if you do not have one. Each member of the team will be split into separate groups.

Competition Sectors:

Gore Creek, Vail, CO (Upper)

Fish:
Rainbow trout, Brown trout, Cutthroat trout, and Cuttbows

Schedule:

7am: meeting (location to be announced)

Session 1-1: 8am - 10am

Session 1-2: 10:45am - 12:45pm 

Session 2-1: 1:30pm - 3:30pm

Session 2-2: 4:15pm - 6:15pm 

Transportation:
Transportation is provided by the anglers on their own.
Will plan on free parking 

Be prepared for possible snow or extreme sun and plan accordingly.

Angler Limit:
This event will be limited to the first 12 anglers.

Registration and Fee:
No entry fee but you must purchase a Fly Fishing Team USA membership within 24 hours of your registration confirmation and have a valid Colorado Fishing License. Please WAIT TO PURCHASE the membership until you have gotten a spot in the comp as it is first come first serve for the registration and I can't guarantee you'll get in. The membership is good for 365 days from when you purchase it. You can purchase the membership at the top of the Fly Fishing Team USA page. 

Registration opens March 7, 2025 at 5:15 pm Mountain Standard Time. 

No-Fish-Period:
A comp water no-fish policy will be in effect starting Sunday, April 6, 2025 at dusk.  All other water will remain open.
