·       Saturday February 8, 2025

·       Angler meeting 7:15am

·       Start fishing at 8:00am

·       We recommend arriving around 7:00am to get free parallel parking along River Road in the vicinity of Mtn. Heritage and Hilton Garden Inn. 575 River Road is a good GPS address to use.

·       We will meet in the grass area to the right when you cross the bridge where Riverside Motor Lodge used to be (the sign is still there) across the street from above listed address.

·       Anglers will be responsible for their lunch if needed. We will have bottled water available.

·       Anglers will fish two 1.5 hour sessions and judge two 1.5 hour sessions

·       40 person event (20 teams of 2)

·       Fish will be judged by length (rounded down to nearest unit of measurement used)

·       This event will be scored by total centimeters of fish landed regardless of session placement

·       Rods may not exceed 11.5ft

·       Anglers may carry no more than 2 rods

·       Leader must not exceed twice the length of rod used(including mono rigs)

·       Reels must be equipped with a commercially produced floating or sinking fly line

·       No sinking or floating devices may be added (indicators, split shot, etc.)

·       Auto reels may be used

·       2 flies permitted and must be separated by minimum 20” whether it is dry dropper, double nymph, or any other combination.

·       If streamers are used, they must be single hook.

·       All double fly rigs (streamer, nymph, dry/dropper) must use a tag system and not be tied directly in line

·       All artificial flies are allowed (including squirmy worms and mops)

·       No nymphs or streamers may have a bead larger than 4.0mm. No dumbbells or cones. (In case of extreme high water, we reserve the right to allow larger beads, dumbbells, and cones. You may bring them, but do not fish them unless we announce otherwise at the pre-fish meeting)

·       10 consecutive and equally stocked beats. Some may be slightly longer than others, but they will be evenly stocked.

·       The beat draw will be published on Friday January 10, 2025.

·       Anglers are welcome to walk the area to visibly scout, but competitors are NOT allowed to fish the competition area after Sunday February 2, 2025 until they are scheduled to fish on the day of the event.

·       We would appreciate if anglers would bring beat markers in from the river with them when the event ends at 4:00pm and return all measuring trays.

·       Unless you have a TN Sportsman License, a Gatlinburg license is required. For nonresident anglers the 097 license for each day you fish will be cheapest unless you plan to fish more than 4 days.

·       This event is not affiliated with any leagues or teams, and Gatlinburg Trout Facility staff will have the final decision in any questions or disagreements. Any unsportsmanlike or unethical behavior will result in immediate disqualification from the event without a refund.

·       For any further questions, call the office at 865-436-7549 or email twilliams@gatlinburgtn.gov
