The Fly Fishing Canada is proud to announce that the British Columbia Fly Fishing League will be hosting this year Canadian National Fly Fishing Championship in Princeton, BC, from July 4th to July 6th, 2024. This marks the twentieth anniversary of the national championship. The event is open to Canadian Residents who hold a current 2024 FFC Membership.
There will be 2 lake session, 3 river sessions and a rest session. The venues will be Corbett Lake, Batstone Lake and the Similkameen River between the town of Princeton and the highway bridge 7km west of Hedley. There will be a 30 day closure on all competition venues starting June 4, 2024. Practice water will be announced in a follow up email.
Competition Will follow FIPS-Mouche rules, with the following rule modifications:
· All sessions will be competitor controlled
· Fish in the lakes will be measured
· Fish in the river will be not measured but recorded as a 20cm fish
· Single fly (BC fishing regulation)
Registration: Opens February 1, 2024, at 12pm PST. Can register as a team or as an individual by emailing interior.bcffl@gmail.com. Individuals will be teamed up after March 15 to allow teams to form or to fill vacancies before payment deadline.
Entry Fee: $400 per angler paid to British Columbia Fly Fishing League no later then March 15, 2024. Payment can be sent by etransfer to interior.bcffl@gmail.com
