2024 Animas River Mini

 

 

This event will be another "local" in the new Fly Fishing Team USA cycle format. For anglers to be eligible to garner points, they must be from Arkansas, Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas. Or they can be from another region and use this as their one competition outside of the region for the cycle. 

 

Date: 

Saturday October, 19th 2024. This mini precedes the Durango Lakes Mini on Sunday.

Location: 

Durango, Colorado.

Event Format:
Each angler will fish two 2 hour sessions. Competitor controlled. This event will be run in a 2-person team format. You can sign up and choose your teammate or a teammate will be assigned to you if you do not have one. Each member of the team will be split into separate groups. The goal is to practice working as a team during competitions.

8:00 am - 10:00 am - Session 1A

10:30 am - 12:30 pm - Session 1B

1:30 pm - 3:30 pm - Session 2A

4:00 pm - 6:00 pm - Session 2B

 

Transportation: 

Transportation is provided by the anglers on their own.

Angler Limit: 

This event will be limited to the first 12 anglers.

Registration and Fee:
No entry fee but you must purchase a Fly Fishing Team USA membership within 24 hours of your registration confirmation. Please WAIT TO PURCHASE the membership until you have gotten a spot in the comp as it is first come first serve for the registration and there is no guarantee you'll get in. The membership is good for 365 days from when you purchase it. You can purchase the membership at the top of the Fly Fishing Team USA page. Registration opens Friday, September 27 at 5:00 PM MDT.

No-Fish-Period: 

A comp water no-fish policy will be in effect on Sunday, October 13 at dark.  

 

Draw: 

The draw will be run publicly on Friday, October 18 at The San Juan Angler at 4:30 pm.
